Andrea Pirlo was born in Flero on the 19th May 1979. He is an Italian World Cup winning footballer who plays for Juventus as midfielder. He plays as playmaker and is regarded as the best player in this position. He started to play for Brescia in 1995. In the 1998 he moved to Inter, in which he played until the 2001, but being loaned to Reggina and Brescia, he made only 22 appearances. In the 2001, he moved to A.C. Milan. It was at Milan where he found his true strides developing into a world class player. With Milan, he won two Serie A, two Champions League, one Coppa Italia and two UEFA Super Cup. He played 284 games, scoring 32 times. In 2011, he moved to Juventus as a free agent on a contract that will last until 2014. His first goal for Juventus was a free kick against Catania on the 18th February 2012. Pirlo captained Italy to an U-21 European Championship in 2000 and semi-finalists in 2002. He won also the bronze medal in the 2004 summer Olympics. Pirlo was a member of the team that won the World Cup un 2006. He also scored in the penalty shoot-out in the final. He was also voted third-best player of the tournament.
