Xabier Alonso Olano was born in Tolosa on the 25th November 1981. He is a Spanish footballer who plays as midfielder for Real Madrid. Alonso began his career at Real Sociedad, in the 1999. After a brief loan period at Eibar he returned to Sociedad where then manager appointed him as captain. He moved to Liverpool in August 2004. He won the Champions League in his first season at the club, scoring the equalising goal in the final. The following season he won the FA Cup. He then moved to Real Madrid in the 2009, in a deal worth around 30 million of pounds, winning the Copa del Rey in the 2011. He plays for the national team since the 2003. He won the European in the 2008 and 2012 and the World Cup in the 2010.
