Xavier Hernández i Creus was born in Terrassa on the 25th January 1980. He is commonly known as Xavi. He is a Spanish footballer who plays as midfielder for Barcelona. He spent his entire career in Barcelona, from the youth system to the senior team. He made his first-team debut on the 18th August 1998. Since then he has played 670 matches, scored 72 goals and made more than 160 assists. He is essential for the midfield and he helped the team to win 6 Liga, one Copa del Rey, 5 Supercopa de Espana, 3 Champions League, 2 UEFA Super Cup and 2 FIFA Club World Cup. He has been capped 108 times for the national team. He won the World Youth Championship in the 1999. With the senior team he won the European in the 2008 and the World Cup in the 2010. He also won the European in the 2012.
